Training videos
Training videos from one screen recording
Record a task in your software once, talking as you go. The Director writes the voice-over, cuts your recording to the steps that matter and adds music. A finished training video in about 20 minutes, no timeline.
How it works
Record it once. Get a training video back.
Record the task
Do the task in the real tool and talk through it, the way you would for a new hire. Record in the browser or upload a recording. Turn the camera on if you want your face in the video.
The Director edits it
It transcribes what you said, writes a clean voice-over from it, and cuts your recording to the steps that matter. You read the storyboard before a frame is made.
Share it, then keep it current
Download it for your LMS, help center or wiki. When the tool changes, ask for a new version in a sentence. Earlier versions stay.
In every training video
- Voice-over written from your own narration
- Voice-over in 84 languages
- Your trainer's cloned voice, or a built-in one
- Your face in a corner bubble, if you record it
- Landscape for the LMS, portrait for phones
- A new version whenever the tool changes

What teams record
One task per video
Each video runs about a minute and shows one task from start to finish. That's how people look things up: they search for the one step they're stuck on, not chapter four of a course.
When to use something else
- Courses longer than a few minutes: each video runs about a minute and shows one task.
- Soft-skills or compliance training that needs a presenter on camera the whole time.
- SCORM packages and quizzes: you download an MP4 and add it to your LMS yourself.
Frequently asked
Questions about training videos
How do I create a training video for software?
Record yourself doing the task in the real tool, talking through each step as you go. Upload the recording, or record it in the browser, and Demo Editor's Director transcribes what you said, writes a clean voice-over from it and cuts your recording to the steps that matter. You get an edited training video with voice-over and music in about 20 minutes, with no timeline to learn.
How long can a training video be?
Up to about a minute. Each video shows one task from start to finish, which is how people look things up anyway. For a longer process, record one video per task: “submit an expense”, “approve a request”, “close the month”. Demo Editor does not make 20-minute courses.
Can I make a training video from a written description alone?
You can describe the video on the form, but the Director works best from your real screen. It films what you recorded and never invents screens your tool doesn't have. If you have no recording, give it a public page about the feature, such as a help-center article, and it captures that page instead.
Can the training video be in other languages?
Yes. The voice-over and on-screen text come in 84 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Hindi. On a paid pack you can get the same video in two languages at once, each voiced and timed in its own language.
Can it use our trainer's voice?
Yes. Clone a voice from one to two minutes of one person speaking, with their permission, or describe the voice you want. Make it the project's narrator and every new training video uses it.
What happens when the software changes?
Record the changed steps and ask for a new version, or ask the Director in a sentence to change what the video says. Every earlier version stays, so you can compare them.
Is Demo Editor a Synthesia or Guidde alternative?
For software training, yes: like Guidde, it starts from a recording of the real tool, and it returns a finished, edited video rather than a step-by-step document. If you need an AI presenter on camera for soft-skills or compliance training, or courses longer than a minute, an avatar tool such as Synthesia fits better.
Can the whole training team use it?
Yes. An organization holds a project per tool, team or client. Invite people as owner, admin or member and limit a member to the projects they need. Video packs are bought for the organization and shared by its projects.
